When is Bazique?

5–7 March 2027.

Where is it?

Buffalo Drift Farm, Tulbagh, about 90 minutes from Cape Town.

Is there an age limit?

Bazique is strictly 20+. Bring valid ID if you look young enough to need it.

When do the gates open and close?

Fri 5th March – Gates Open 12pm to 12am (Midnight).
Sat 6th March – Gates Open 8am to 11pm.
Sun 7th March - Gates Open 8am to 12pm midday.
Please note there is no camping over on Sunday night except for in the Glamping area.

Where do I buy tickets?

Only through Howler. We can’t vouch for tickets bought anywhere else.

Do I need a car pass?

If you would like to camp next to your car or bring a live-in vehicle, then yes — a car pass is for you! One Pass allows two camping tents per car and four people per car. The total space allocated for each pass is aproximately 6x4 meters. These passes are super limited, so crack on and buy one if you want to camp with your vehicle.

Are there any day tickets?

There are no day tickets to Bazique – there are full weekend passes only. Bazique is an immersive 3-day experience. If you don’t have camping gear, please check out our Glamping options.

What is the refund policy?

Please refer to the refund policy on our ticketing platform here.

Is Bazique cashless?

Cash and Card payments are accepted at food vendors and the bar.

Camping

What’s the camping like?

Grass, mostly flat, with limited shade. Camping is first come, first serve.

Is there glamping?

Yes. Choose between dome tents and bell tents. Domes come with the essentials. Bells are the step up, with more space and creature comforts depending on which option you choose. See the options and book on Howler.

Can I bring a caravan or campervan?

Yes but you need to purchase a car camping pass. The standard car camping pass allows for one camper van.

What’s the weather like at Bazique?

Pretty much guaranteed sunshine all day with warm evenings and only a small chance of rain. The average temperature is around 30 degrees daytime and 15 degrees night time. It can get a lot hotter in the day, up to 35 degrees, so be prepared.

What’s provided?

Water points, toilets, showers, food traders, bars, medics. Toilets are marked on the info boards and flagged across the site.

Can I stay until Monday?

If you are in general camping you need to leave the site by 7pm on Sunday. If you are staying in any of the glamping options, you are welcome to stay the night until Monday morning.

Do I have to dress up?

You don’t have to. You’ll want to.

Can I bring an art piece or performance?

Yes, please. To find out about this year’s theme, and to submit your idea for an art grant, please visit the Art page.

Can I swim in the river?

Yes, at your own risk. The Berg River runs right through the site. Absolutely no swimming after dark.

Can I make a fire?

No fires or Braais. The valley gets dry, and we want to keep coming back.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Your own alcohol can be consumed at your campsite. There is a checkpoint at the entrance to the festival arena, no alcohol will not be allowed past this point.

Can I bring my dog?

This is not a pet friendly event, please leave your fur babies at home.

What should I leave at home?

Glass bottles. Cookers of any description. Braais. Flares. Fireworks. Illegal substances. Dogs, cows, alpacas or any other animals. (Feel free to dress up as one tho). No drones.
